When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Show us a picture that reflects your self-image.
The most important thing about a mirror is that it reflects what is actually there, and it reflects YOU. What you interpret that as being? Well, that can be a delusion, can't it? I've looked in the mirror when it was smeared with powder, and that can distort everything. Once I got past all of that, I found I was really able to view myself in a more realistic manner.
When other people see me, they see blonde hair, big boobs and my famous, insured, fifty inch legs. Those are real. But I've stopped staring at my face, looking for lines or shadows. I just use the mirror as a tool to get ready.
I think it's just healthier.

Here it is once again this one note
from a string of longing
tightened suddenly from both ends
and held for plucking
tone torn out of one birdsong
though that bird
by now may be
where a call cannot
follow it
the same note goes on calling
across space and is heard now
in the old night and known there
a silence recognized
by the silence it calls to
from a string of longing
tightened suddenly from both ends

Hey Mun,
So how many tries did that take? Four? Five? Maybe you should leave being an assassin to the pros. Or stop running in swinging your sword and learn a thing or two about being subtle.
And while I'm still angry at you for the plans you have in mind, I do approve of you settling on me knowing Krav Maga. You could even say I'm a little happy with your decision.

Life's going too fast for proper blog entries, like the 300kg pallet that didn't go on the airplane because it wouldn't fit, and the 4Mg (five ton) shipment that we delivered ten minutes before close for the holiday weekend. (Can you say, "p*ssed warehouse workers"?)
The Wal-Mart gig went well. Sure, there were inevitable minor glitches, but the overall plan spread the crowd over time and throughout the store, strongly dissipating most of any problem before it ever occurred. From a retail perspective, though, it was clear the economy is still in shambles. Management had been confident that the TV's, etc., would all be gone ten minutes after the 5am bell, but by T-plus-four-hours, when the crowds had disappeared, we still had half of the original 66 TV's sitting on the pallets. Oddly, we didn't even sell one TV per place in the TV line. I got the feeling some people just found it a good spot to wait until the diapers went on sale.
A ten-minute run to the airport turned into, "oops, no flight is scheduled", drive to Pittsburgh, five hours each way. High winds and snow kicked in at the higher altitudes west of Harrisburg, and at one point, the sky burst into a bright green explosion of lightning. (Does that predict potential tornadoes?) Slept very poorly in the car.

I seem to have been nominated spokesman, tonight. (Given that the subject I am about to broach has left the usual (of late) choice incapable of coherent speech, I suppose this ought to come as no surprise.)
I know naught of this "Team Fortress 2" of which my lady mundane sometimes speaks. However, tonight she speaks of it in worried tonesas opposed to giggly ones peppered with mention of something called Cuanta Vida, of which I know less than naught. It would seem that someone has posted a secret regarding a gathering place for fans of that "canon" and how that place seems to have lost its pull as a lifeline for them, at a community dedicated to the sharing of such secrets.
I am told that those of you who call Team Fortress 2 your source are either soldiers or mercenaries. Even as a king, I can but beg you for assistance - I am understandably without access to the coffers of my domain, and even if I were I must confess that they are none too full.
I know I have no face to show my sincerity. I know that those who run the community in question frown upon those from our side of the fourth wall making appearances in their threads (as does the person truly writing this). But I and she cannot bear to see someone lose their grasp on something as precious as one's own life is.
Soldiers - or mercenaries, again, I know not what you call yourselves - of Red and Blue, I entreat you to lay down your arms for a time and come to the aid of one who at the very least finds certain of you highly attractive. One of your number already has, though I am told that he has been granted a special exception. If you are not allowed in, then perhaps your writers here might be persuaded to write to this person themselves.
I plead with you, I beg of you to at the very least attempt to persuade your typists to step in.
-Lief, King of Deltora
((Do I know this is transparent? Yes. I don't mess around with things like tonight's #172, though, suffice it to say. Also... goddamnit, he would do this.))

After I'm dead, I suppose that there are just three songs that I would leave behind, songs that I would want people to think about.
1. All You Need Is Love - The Beatles

2. Be Good to Yourself - Journey
3. My Way - Frank Sinatra
Pretty simple, I think. But then, when you're gone, you don't want to overload it.
